Public Health Internship Program

At Alliance for Good Health, our public health internship program is designed to foster meaningful, hands-on learning while supporting the health priorities of Indigenous communities in the Bolivian Amazon.

Interns gain an understanding of the relationship between culture, environment, and health by working alongside local partners. The experience emphasizes respect for community knowledge, collaboration, and evidence-based public health practice.

Our internship fully immerses participants in Amazonian ecology and culture while engaging them in projects that address real health needs identified by the community.

The 2024 project focused on promoting and improving oral health among children, adolescents, and mothers of young children in the community of Carmen Soledad, near Rurrenabaque, Beni, Bolivia.

Through education, prevention, and community-based engagement, the internship supports both learning and lasting local impact.
